the artist:
Ron Spellman is a U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer and assistant
editor of the monthly Coast Guard Magazine, for which he
has produced "Astonishing Sea Stories," a comic featuring
historical Coast Guard heroes. More of his work can be viewed at
www.astonishingheroes.com.

at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.
