In the first major step toward celebrating the 125th anniversary, ASME has launched an anniversary logo that reflects both the history and the future of the Society — as a forward-looking, global, market-focused organization. It implies speed and agility, strength, and poise.

ASME's anniversary logo, for use through the year 2005, incorporates the tagline "Setting the Standard" — inclusive of excellence in many areas — emerging technologies, ethics, global exchange, technical literacy and lifelong learning among them.

The new logo, in blue and black, incorporates the ASME acronym, with a globe and the years 1880-2005. Usage guidelines are available (PDF).
